How ProConWiki Works

ProConWiki analyzes claims from both sides using verified sources and transparent rules. Arguments are evaluated by evidence quality — never by popularity, engagement, or editorial preference.

What makes this different

Most platforms rank content by likes, shares, or engagement. The loudest voice wins. ProConWiki works differently: every argument is scored by the quality of its evidence, the clarity of its reasoning, and how well it holds up under scrutiny. An argument with one strong, verified source outranks an argument with a thousand upvotes.

What never counts

Popularity, vote count, follower count, engagement metrics, and number of shares are permanently excluded from argument scoring. This is a structural decision, not a setting that can be changed.

Where arguments come from

Arguments on ProConWiki are not written directly by users. They are constructed from verified sources by an AI analysis system that researches each perspective independently.

1
A claim is identified
Topics are identified from current events, user suggestions, or editorial analysis. Each claim is phrased as a clear, debatable statement — not a question.
2
Both sides are researched equally
The system searches for real evidence supporting and opposing the claim. Sources are drawn from reputable publications — news organizations, academic journals, government agencies, and research institutions.
3
Sources are verified
Every cited source is checked for reachability and classified by type: peer-reviewed research, government data, major news reporting, or other web sources. Evidence strength is rated accordingly.
4
Arguments are scored
Each argument is evaluated on evidence quality, reasoning clarity, source credibility, and resilience under counter-arguments. The scoring methodology is published and transparent.
5
A synthesis is produced
Based on the scored arguments, a balanced synthesis is generated at two levels: Essence (plain language) and Standard (general adult). The synthesis reflects the weight of the evidence, not a predetermined conclusion — and every conclusion traces back to the arguments and sources behind it.

How you can contribute

Every claim page has a contribution section. You write naturally — share evidence, challenge reasoning, suggest a new angle. The system handles the rest.

1
Submit your insight
Type your contribution in the text box. You can respond to the claim overall or to a specific argument. Citing sources strengthens your contribution.
2
Your contribution is reviewed
Every contribution is automatically evaluated for relevance, coherence, and good faith. Off-topic or incoherent submissions are filtered. You'll see a confirmation that your contribution was received.
3
Strong insights are researched and elevated
Contributions that contain genuine evidence, novel reasoning, or important challenges are selected for elevation. The system independently researches the insight using real sources and constructs a formal, evidence-backed argument.
4
You get credit
When your insight leads to an elevated argument, you receive attribution on your contribution profile. Your track record is ranked by impact — high-quality contributions stay visible, while older, lower-value entries naturally decay.

You are never asked to fill in forms, pick categories, or format your contribution. You think. You type. The system does the structuring.

Nothing is permanent

Arguments are not published once and left alone. They are continuously reevaluated as new evidence emerges, sources are updated, and counter-arguments strengthen. An argument that was strong six months ago may be downgraded if its evidence has been superseded or its sources are no longer reachable.

This means the analysis for any claim is a living document — not a fixed conclusion. The synthesis updates as the underlying evidence changes.

Three levels of detail

Not everyone needs the same depth. Every claim is presented at two levels, switchable anytime:

Essence

Plain language a middle schooler can understand. No jargon. Concrete examples. Good for getting the basic picture quickly.

Standard

For a general adult audience. Balanced, cites the strongest points from each side, acknowledges where evidence is uncertain.

Need more depth?

Every synthesis sentence is traceable: numbered citations link to the arguments behind it, each argument shows its sources and quality score, and the full scoring methodology is published. Depth is one tap away, not a separate mode.

Governing principles

Evidence over opinion. Arguments are evaluated by what they cite, not who submitted them.

Balance by design. Every claim is analyzed from both sides. The system actively identifies when one perspective is underrepresented.

Transparency. The scoring methodology is published. No hidden editorial judgment determines which arguments rank higher.

No popularity bias. Upvotes, shares, and engagement metrics are structurally excluded from argument scoring. Permanently.

Continuous improvement. Nothing is final. Arguments, evidence, and synthesis evolve as the world changes.

Credit for substance. Contributors are recognized for the impact of their insights — not the quantity of their posts.
